"Silence. That’s how the concert began—with the silence of the creative artist. Before the piano keys, Pastrana immersed himself in brief meditation, establishing an invisible connection, like a medium conversing with the beyond. Suddenly, the piano began to sing. A few scattered notes emerged, and the structure of the musical discourse slowly started to take shape. The piano rose like a soul coming to life—an ordered structure where music flowed with coherent logic.

Throughout the concert, other improvisations appeared, where the artist’s imagination led us to visualize images and experience contrasting sensations—like a parade of stories painting thoughts and conveying emotions, each crafted with mastery.

In the first improvisation, the young pianist’s command of the instrument and the musical language was astonishing. Since music is a language with its own orthography and syntax, we can affirm that improvisation allowed him to demonstrate an advanced mastery of its rhythmic, melodic, harmonic, stylistic, and expressive components." Angelica Daza Enciso
